Feedback Policy
The new Ebay
Feedback Policy of May 2008 strikes a new blow for sellers. Now Ebay
refuses to allow sellers to leave appropate feedback for buyers. Ebay will
only allow sellers to to leave postitive feedback even if the buyer never
paid!
Ebay even restricts seller from leaveing feedback that might be deemed as slightly negitive.Talk about censorship!!
These new rules do nothing to create trust and honesty in the Ebay community, and nothing to assist sellers in identyfing
the huge number of paying bidders that plague ebay.
This new policy is placed on top of the extremely flawed “star
system”, started in spring of 2007. As a result of these new rules I will
not participate in the feedback system. I do hope that Ebay will soon
respect the seller, whom pays 100% of the fees for every transaction.I
also hope, that ebay change their feedback system and allow them to
appropate feedback and not force the seller to be dishonest in the
feedback process.
I have
seriously evaluated the new Ebay feedback “star system” which was
implemented in May 2007. I found the old Ebay system fair because it
allowed for people to voice their opinions about a transaction in an open
forum. It had checks and balances.
The new “star system” ebay
implemented without consideration of the seller has no checks and
balances. It allows only the buyer to secretly evaluate the seller. In the
new “star system” the seller can not evaluate the buyer using the “star
system” but the buyer can use it to evaluate the seller.
I find
the new “star system” one sided and extremely unfair to sellers by
allowing only buyers to use the star system. What is worse is that it is
done secretly. If the new “star system” also allowed for the seller to
secretly evacuate the buyer it would be at least fair.
Because the
new “star system,” in addititon to the 2008 feedback changes, I have
decided to not to be a part of the feedback process. Rest assured however
if and when Ebay decides to allow seller’s to secretly evaluate the buyer
you can count on me being part of the feedback process once
again.
Thank you for your understanding,
